The results shown are obtained by the development vehicle and may differ depending on the vehicle using this engine. The power indicated by the manufacturer is only available in "launch control" mode. The power and torque curves displayed reflect the constant power. In this case, the difference after WOT reprogramming is even more significant since this power is available permanently.

Introduction

Porsche Taycan GTS/Turbo/Turbo S

Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015, Porsche’s electric concept car, the Mission E, was a precursor of the Taycan, which was not produced until four years later.

The Taycan, greatly inspired by this concept car, embodies %link%’s vision: that of a “lively young horse”, in the words of the manufacturer.

Initially announced with a power of around 600 horsepower and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds, the production version of the Taycan finally provides an output of up to 761 horsepower, allowing it to reach 100 km/h in less than 2.8 seconds! However, this exceptional performance is accompanied by a reduction in range, which unfortunately does not reach the 500 km initially announced.

WOT Porsche Taycan Turbo S

This first all-electric model by Porsche has enjoyed great commercial success, especially in Europe, thanks to its exceptional driving pleasure. Unlike many other manufacturers who have turned to electric vehicles, the prestige marque has managed to preserve the very essence of the Porsche experience. The perfect driving position, coupled with unparalleled driving precision and top-notch performance are felt even with the smallest engines.

Despite being all-electric, the Taycan range respects Porsche’s traditional nomenclature, with models 4, 4S, GTS, Turbo and Turbo S, offering power ranging from 408 hp for the basic version to 761 hp for the Turbo S.

This translates into acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 260 km/h. Such impressive performance is shared in part with Audi and its Etron-GT and Etron-GT RS. However, Porsche stands out thanks to its rapid charging to 270 kW and performance above 598 hp, both of which are deliberately electronically limited at Audi.

Forget everything and start with a blank page.

The only limitations imposed are electronic, restricting the front-mounted engine from 600 to 300 A. The GTS version makes the most of this increase in power, with similar motors to those of the Turbo S version, offering more than 800 hp.

This results in a top speed of over 275 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h just below the 2.8 second mark in the standard version (not “Turismo”). All of this by redefining the standards, allowing car enthusiasts to explore new horizons without constraints.

Supercar performance that we are very proud to have achieved after a great many tests while keeping the BMS in its original state, as envisaged by the manufacturer. This allows WOT to offer you the best in complete safety.

Did you know?

Porsche has long hesitated to present a “Turbo” version of the Taycan. Indeed, the Turbo denomination took on its full meaning when the 930-type 911 was presented in 1974. Since then, the name has been used for the most powerful versions equipped with at least one turbo. As the Porsche Taycan is an electric vehicle, the Turbo designation loses its meaning, but despite everything, Porsche wished to keep this term that is indicative of performance, speed and excellence. It is also an opportunity to pay tribute to the brand’s heritage.

The development process

We select the vehicle which combines the most significant criteria contributing to pollution, in particular: consumption, weight, air resistance (drag coefficient) and type of transmission. For this PSM-EBEA engine, we opted for the Porsche Taycan GTS model. If the vehicle successfully passes the numerous pollution tests, the official verification body can logically conclude that the other, less polluting models in the range will also obtain positive results. This is why, within WOT, such importance is given to the engine code.
