Homologation is a process whereby manufacturers obtain the approval of their vehicles to offer them legally on the automotive market.
This compliance stage involves a series of rigorous tests that, among others, measure the gaseous pollutants emitted by the engine of a vehicle under different driving conditions, such as driving in cities and on motorways. Following the emergence of a collective awareness sensitive to environmental protection, regulations on emissions have multiplied.
Driving a non-compliant vehicle poses potential risks and may result in substantial financial penalties. Homologation is therefore an essential element to ensure regulatory compliance in the automotive industry.
Reducing pollutants is essential to protect our planet. Vehicle exhaust is a source of air pollution, including fine particulate matter, nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide that have adverse effects on human and environmental health.
Emissions regulations, which include homologation, are designed to minimize these adverse effects by limiting the amounts of pollutants that vehicles can emit. By ensuring vehicles meet emissions standards, homologation helps reduce the environmental impact of the automotive industry and protect our planet for future generations.
Concerned by the impacts related to human activity, WOT, in the same way as a car manufacturer, is committed to a homologation process to ensure that its entire range complies with the anti-pollution standards in force.
WOT’s unique know-how and our vision of homologated engine reprogramming have resulted in unprecedented cooperation with the government of Luxembourg. The latter grants WOT an exclusive procedure for the recognition of the test report issued by TÜV Rheinland Luxembourg, an independent certification and control body, with the aim of ensuring the rapid and effective adoption of strict rules in the field of engine reprogramming.
To achieve this unique process in Luxembourg, we have had to meet the ISO 9001 standard, which guarantees consistent quality in our design and development methods.
This collaboration would not have been possible without close collaboration with TÜV Rheinland Luxembourg, which remains the guarantor of compliance with the standards in force for each vehicle presented to them. TÜV drafts a full report of each vehicle to certify that our reprogramming is compliant in terms of safety, anti-pollution and noise standards.
Today, thanks to this exclusive procedure arranged with the Luxembourg government and our commitment, we are in a position to offer approved and legal engine reprogramming yielding a significant increase in performance and driving pleasure, while respecting the standards in force.
