The B48 engine has now been used for almost 10 years in almost all BMW/Mini models. This engine is also used by Toyota with the 2.0 version of the Supra. With no less than 12 variants, it is mainly found in the 2.0l version (1.6l for the Turkish market) and its power ranges from 156 to 306 hp in its beefiest version.
It enjoys a very good press because it is by far one of the best 4-cylinder engines with controlled consumption. Armed with this asset and an excellent collaboration with Toyota, the hybrid version of this engine was not long in coming. First proposed in the 30e and then in the 20e version, this 2.0 engine develops up to 292 hp of combined power, quite a respectable score especially since it is obtained with less than 49gr of CO2 per kilometer.
The B48 engine succeeds the N20, unfortunately known for its fragility. To a great extent it corrects the problems of the old engine by reinforcing it in particular via a “closed-deck” construction. Integrated for the first time in the Mini Cooper S, it is available in both transverse and longitudinal versions.
As this is BMW’s most popular engine, it didn’t take long for the WOT team to bring out its quintessence.
With its multiple restricted power versions, this engine often provides exemplary performance for a 4-cylinder engine, especially in a hybrid version.
The combination of the two technologies brings the power of the 20e/30e to more than 450 hp with 700 Nm of torque. Impressive! Enough to ensure safe overtaking without altering the vehicle.
We select the vehicle which combines the most significant criteria contributing to pollution, in particular: consumption, weight, air resistance (drag coefficient) and type of transmission. For this B48H engine, we opted for the BMW X3 30e (2.0T) EU6d model. If the vehicle successfully passes the numerous pollution tests, the official verification body can logically conclude that the other, less polluting models in the range will also obtain positive results. This is why, within WOT, such importance is given to the engine code.
At WOT, we invest heavily in research and development to provide you with an experience where performance and reliability go hand in hand. However, it is possible that during a routine inspection, the manufacturer has detected that your vehicle has undergone modifications. Even if the improvements made by WOT are homologated, this detection can lead to the loss of the factory warranty.
For this reason we have created an additional motor warranty, specifically designed to meet your highest demands.
