While many carmakers are focusing on the transition to all-electric vehicles, our experts at WOT appreciate the advances being made in internal combustion engines. In this technological race, the Japanese market stands out in particular, with Toyota and its new GR Yaris. A true champion of hybridisation, Toyota is once again demonstrating its expertise with this compact, sporty and accessible model, equipped with a remarkable powertrain. The first Yaris GR was equipped with the world's most powerful three-cylinder engine (261 hp), and was the perfect example of performance... but not particularly reliability, as we'll talk about later.
At WOT, we immediately saw the potential of the new Yaris GR, which is why we bought it from the outset. Reprogramming this first model proved complex, mainly due to the lack of information on the calibration of the Denso Gen3 ECU. However, thanks to intensive testing and our technical expertise, we were able to optimise this engine. After reprogramming, our development Yaris GR reached 298 hp and 420 Nm of torque, transforming this little city car into a real performance beast.
We are one of the few tuners to have passed the TUV emissions test, which means we can offer approved reprogramming of this remarkable 1.6 Turbo engine.
