With the Dark Matter motor, Koenigsegg marks a major advancement in integrating electric power into the heart of performance. Developed in-house, this electric motor, producing 600 kW (800 hp) and 1250 Nm of torque, and which is compact (38 cm in diameter, 13.5 cm thick, weighing 39 kg), replaces the three motors initially envisioned in the Gemera concept. Mounted at the front, it powers the front wheels alone in electric mode or complements the rear internal combustion engine during acceleration phases.

Its direct-drive design (without a gearbox) combined with the Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission (LSTT) allows for immediate traction, which can be silent or explosive depending on the chosen mode.
