A model of its kind, its 3-cylinder 1.6 liter Turbo engine develops 261hp for 360Nm of torque. Equipped with all-wheel drive with limited slip differential, the vehicle combines reliability and power to deliver unparalleled sensations.
Through determination and technological prowess, the WOT engineers have nevertheless unlocked the secrets of the device in order to communicate with the ECU. This high-precision work now opens a new chapter. Ever more dynamic.
The reprogramming of the Yaris GR proved to be more complicated than expected, not due to the complexity of the engine but rather because of the lack of information available when discovering the calibration of the Denso Gen3 ECU. To collect our own data, we had to use our own vehicle, which was the very first WOT development vehicle.
This means that the development of this engine took us no less than five months, until we moved the vehicle to our development center in Toulouse, where a team dedicated to this engine was able to focus fully on the project. Thanks to many trial and error sessions, we managed to achieve excellent results on this vehicle.
In fact, we managed to obtain an exceptional power curve with an open throttle over the entire range of engine speed, which represented the main difficulty and had an impact not only on performance and driving pleasure, but also on reliability. After WOT optimization we achieved 298PS and 420Nm of torque, making the little Yaris extremely powerful and fun.
We select the vehicle which combines the most significant criteria contributing to pollution, in particular: consumption, weight, air resistance (drag coefficient) and type of transmission. For this G16E engine, we opted for the Toyota Yaris 1.6T (GR) model. If the vehicle successfully passes the numerous pollution tests, the official verification body can logically conclude that the other, less polluting models in the range will also obtain positive results. This is why, within WOT, such importance is given to the engine code.
At WOT, we invest heavily in research and development to provide you with an experience where performance and reliability go hand in hand. However, it is possible that during a routine inspection, the manufacturer has detected that your vehicle has undergone modifications. Even if the improvements made by WOT are homologated, this detection can lead to the loss of the factory warranty.
For this reason we have created an additional motor warranty, specifically designed to meet your highest demands.
