All reprogramming solutions offered by WOT are homologable, which means they comply with the strict standards in force in the European Union, particularly in terms of emissions. They are verified by a renowned inspection body, namely TÜV Rheinland AG.
We are in the process of establishing partnerships with local entities to provide you with a comprehensive homologation process in your country.
In the meantime, WOT is more than willing to provide you with a homologable reprogramming for your vehicle through a test report, the "Prüfbericht".

We have been in discussions with the authorities of several European countries to legally offer our reprogramming in all 27 EU member states. While this process is time-consuming, it is bearing fruit, as evidenced by our established partnerships in various countries.

Its marketing commonly offers the latest technologies and in terms of performance, always manages to rise to the level of the best in the segment. This latest version of the engine is no exception to the rule. Offered for GTI and R vehicles, but also under other names throughout the range, this engine is available in a very wide variety of engines ranging from 245 to 333 hp.
This 4th version of the 2.0 T(F)SI engine made its debut with the launch of the Golf VIII GTI in early 2020. Due to coronavirus, the production and delivery of the first vehicles fitted with this engine were disrupted. It was not until the last quarter of 2021 that the Golf VIII was finally delivered in very large numbers worldwide.
Before starting the development of the 2.0 TSI EA888.4 engine (fourth generation), it is necessary to access the engine control unit data. For the second consecutive generation, Continental has been chosen as the supplier to exploit this new engine.
Even if we were used to the previous generation’s Simos 18 engine management, this new generation ECU, known as the Simos 19, comes with its share of new specifications and security features. In addition, in accordance with the new European standard, this ECU interacts with a secure gateway that filters exchanges. These are all security features that made it difficult to access data from the engine ECU. It was not until October 2022 that the AutoTuner engine reprogramming tool found a solution and allowed thousands of users to implement this protocol and finally start their own development. And what a development!
It was an exceptional opportunity for WOT to launch a complete development project, including a new engine, a new vehicle and a new ECU.
It was our way of demonstrating our expertise by taking the flagship of the Wolfsburg brand by storm, proposing a range of powers from 330 to 400 horsepower, a first for this new VAG engine. Building on our solid experience in the development of performance parts, we designed a unique Garrett turbo, which had the crucial mission of delivering a rapid response, as well as top-notch performance at high engine speed.
Since most of these sports vehicles are front-wheel drive, it took many attempts at calibration before achieving the reactivity and linearity that the manufacturer would have aimed for had it taken up this challenge. The intercooler also played an essential role in the consistency of the results. In the latest power evolution (WOT-3), our development vehicle is equipped with KW V3 suspension, high-performance brakes and lightweight OZ rims. In this configuration, the Golf GTI WOT-3 is capable of delivering more than 400 horsepower with such ease that it leaves you speechless. Never had a GTI given our team so much pleasure as this Golf.
We select the vehicle which combines the most significant criteria contributing to pollution, in particular: consumption, weight, air resistance (drag coefficient) and type of transmission. For this EA888.4 DNP engine, we opted for the Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TSI GTI model. If the vehicle successfully passes the numerous pollution tests, the official verification body can logically conclude that the other, less polluting models in the range will also obtain positive results. This is why, within WOT, such importance is given to the engine code.
At WOT, we invest heavily in research and development to provide you with an experience where performance and reliability go hand in hand. However, it is possible that during a routine inspection, the manufacturer has detected that your vehicle has undergone modifications. Even if the improvements made by WOT are homologated, this detection can lead to the loss of the factory warranty.
For this reason we have created an additional motor warranty, specifically designed to meet your highest demands.
