Welcome to the WOT universe. At WOT, the engine is an obsession. All our developments are done based on engine code. EA888.3 DKT OPF is the internal engine reference for your Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI. Let us sublimate your engine thanks to homologated engine reprogramming.

Vehicles other than the Skoda Octavia featured on this page also use the EA888.3 DKT OPF.

Introduction

VAG’s 2.0 TSI engine stands out unquestionably as the most renowned in all categories.

The ultimate reference.

Sportier than its predecessor, its power bewitches. It is fitted in many of the brand’s vehicles but it is especially the Golf R and the Golf GTI (Grand Touring Injection) that are associated with such remarkable performance. The Golf GTI, born in the mid-1970s, established a new driving standard by combining civility and sportiness.

Until the Golf 3, atmospheric engines did not arouse a great deal of enthusiasm with regard to optimization. However, this trend changed with the Golf 4 which, for the first time, introduced a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine delivering 150 horsepower.

The development of this 3rd generation 2.0 TSI EA888 engine was a major challenge for all parties involved.

Historically, VAG entrusted its high-end electronic engine management to the outfitter Bosch, recognized by all professionals for its rigor, reliability and performance.
However, the group decided to end its collaboration with Bosch, turning to equipment manufacturer Siemens for reasons of competitiveness and to better prepare the management of dual injection required to meet the Euro6 standard.

Grasping a new type of ECU is no easy task, given the differences in operation, thus requiring abundant documentation, time and a great deal of trial and error. These tests were complicated by the first turbos which, depending on their references, suffered from design problems involving random breakages.

It took a few years for VAG to acknowledge this defect and agree to replace the defective turbos (after breakage). Despite a difficult start, this engine, representative of the group’s gasoline engines, offers immense potential for customization.

This is where WOT’s exceptional expertise comes into play by offering parts that are both high-performing and reliable.

This version of the EA888.3 engine, identifiable by the DKTx engine code, is equipped with a particulate filter (OPF), which slightly attenuates the sound of the 4 cylinders without compromising performance compared to version without an OPF. Thanks to WOT reprogramming, the engine now develops more than 310 horsepower and an impressive torque of 450 Nm, radically transforming the vehicle.

The development process

We select the vehicle which combines the most significant criteria contributing to pollution, in particular: consumption, weight, air resistance (drag coefficient) and type of transmission. For this EA888.3 DKT OPF engine, we opted for the Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI model. If the vehicle successfully passes the numerous pollution tests, the official verification body can logically conclude that the other, less polluting models in the range will also obtain positive results. This is why, within WOT, such importance is given to the engine code.

What about the warranty?

At WOT, we invest heavily in research and development to provide you with an experience where performance and reliability go hand in hand. However, it is possible that during a routine inspection, the manufacturer has detected that your vehicle has undergone modifications. Even if the improvements made by WOT are homologated, this detection can lead to the loss of the factory warranty.

For this reason we have created an additional motor warranty, specifically designed to meet your highest demands.
