The heart of the beast: A high-performance V12 bi-turbo engine

Under the bonnet of this Vanquish is a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, delivering 835 hp and an impressive 1000 Nm of torque. Featuring a number of technical improvements, this engine boasts a specific power output of 160 hp/litre. Aston Martin has strengthened the cylinder block and connecting rods, redesigned the cylinder heads and optimised the intake and exhaust systems to push the turbochargers 15% faster than the previous generation. The injectors, meanwhile, benefit from a 10% higher flow rate, guaranteeing better fuel delivery.

Transmission and chassis: The quest for perfection

To make the most of this V12, Aston Martin has combined an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with an electronic limited slip differential (e-diff). This system, integrated with ESP, ensures greater agility in tight bends and optimum control at high speeds. With a final gear ratio optimised for top speed, this Vanquish is capable of a top speed of 345 km/h.

But the real feat lies in the completely redesigned chassis. Based on an aluminium structure, the car gains in lateral rigidity, improving stability and offering a more engaging drive. The suspension system, shared with the DB12 and Vantage models, is designed to offer the perfect balance between long-distance comfort and on-demand sportiness.

The new Aston Martin Vanquish 2024 is the very embodiment of resistance to current trends. This twin-turbo V12 engine is probably one of the last of its kind, and Aston Martin has paid tribute to it by placing it at the heart of a car with breathtaking performance. Although the decision not to make a limited numbered series is questionable, unless the rarity of this model at 1000 units is enough to arouse interest.
